PROJECT SCOPE: Web Design | Video Creation

Overview

FOCAS Ministries is a Cincinnati Non-Profit that focuses their efforts to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in urban Cincinnati. Operating primarily through a program called the Lord's Gym, FOCAS emphasizes media to deliver the meaningful stories of life change to inspire volunteers and donors. Leading up to a fall fundraising push, the ministry wanted a redesigned and mobile friendly website as well as a series of videos shot to emulate a news broadcast that would be presented alongside a little acting at their donor luncheons. The videos outlined their ministry with locations in multiple cities and included stories of life change at each location.

Website

Ease of use and mobile friendliness were the major goals for the website redevelopment. We simplified the delivery of their monthly blog posts, social media integration, volunteer form, stories of life change, and general information to fall with in an easy to use navigational system on the website. By balancing intentionally placed visual links and a simple menu bar across the top, users find all of the information they could need at their fingertips without a burdensome amount of clicking or visual over-stimulation.

Video Series

The video series was envisioned and scripted out to feel like a new broadcast. The main delivery of the videos was a coordinated effort to make the pre-recorded videos feel like a live broadcast at multiple donor luncheons. We created a predictable introduction and send off to each video so it felt as if they were being introduced and sending off to particular people in the newscast. Even with multiple days of shooting in multiple cities and states, the effort was planned and coordinated well enough to be executed without a hitch from the pre-production and video editing to the the live interaction with the video series at the donor meetings.
